What Is A Hit Counter?
A Hit Counter keeps track of how many people visit a page, and, returns that number to
the page. The number can either be displayed as an image, or as plain ASCII text. Keep in
mind that some services you may already use can provide you with free counters. Such
services are Angelfire, AOL, Demon.Net, GeoCities,
Pair, Prodigy, & Tripod.

counter, but an advertisement banner is attached to that counter.
